If the  pencil method  doesn’t work immediately, here are some other solutions:

• Dry soap or candle  : Run a piece of  dry soap  or a  candle  over the teeth to lubricate the closure.
• Oil or Vaseline (very small amount)  : Apply a little oil to  a cotton swab and rub the stuck area.
• Tweezers  : If a  piece of fabric is stuck , use  tweezers  to gently remove it.

Preventing Your Zippers from Getting Jammed

To prevent your zipper  from getting stuck in the future , adopt these good habits:

•  Clean your teeth  regularly with an old toothbrush .
• Avoid pulling  the slider sharply.
• Apply a little graphite or dry soap  from time to time.
