INSTRUCTIONS:
- Season the Chicken:
- Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Cook the Chicken:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
- Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the Garlic:
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until it becomes fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Make the Cream Sauce:
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine with the garlic.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low.
- Add Parmesan and Seasonings:
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- Continue to simmer, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add Spinach (Optional):
- If using fresh spinach, stir it into the sauce and cook until it wilts, about 2-3 minutes.
- Return the Chicken to the Skillet:
- Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the creamy sauce.
- Spoon some of the sauce over the chicken to coat it.
- Simmer:
- Allow the chicken to simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes, ensuring it is well-coated and heated through.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for garnish.
- Serve the creamy garlic Parmesan chicken hot, with the sauce spooned generously over the top.
