Instructions
1. Preheat Waffle Iron:
Preheat your Belgian waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
2. Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
3. Mix Wet Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the yogurt, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if the batter is a little lumpy.
5. Cook the Waffles:
Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or a brush of melted butter.
Pour the batter onto the preheated waffle iron (the amount will depend on the size of your iron). Close the lid and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually for about 3-5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
6. Serve:
Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and serve immediately with your favorite toppings such as fresh berries, whipped cream, syrup, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
