Prepare the apples:
Advertisement:Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Wash and core the apples, making sure to leave the bottom intact. Place them in a gratin dish.
Prepare the filling:
Mix the honey, crushed walnuts, cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg in a bowl. Fill the core of the apples with this mixture.
Add a gourmet touch:
Add a knob of butter on top of each apple. Pour the apple juice or water into the bottom of the dish.
Cooking:
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, basting the apples with their juice every 10 minutes to make them even more tender.
Serving:
Serve hot, accompanied by a spoonful of plain yogurt, cinnamon ice cream or custard for a refined dessert.
