Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Hazelnut Sponge Cake
- Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Grease and line an 8-inch cake pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
- Add vanilla extract, then sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold in ground hazelnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely on a cooling rack.
