Ingredients
For the Chai Spice Apple Filling
- 10 cups apples (about 10 medium-sized apples), peeled and sliced into 1/4″ slices
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
For the Oatmeal Chai Crisp Topping:
- 8 ounces unsalted butter, at room temperature, cut into cubes
- 1 and 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
For the Chai Spice Apple Filling:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees (F). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Place the sliced apples in a large bowl and toss with the lemon juice.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and spices. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples and toss well to coat.

Pour apple mixture into prepared baking dish and set aside while you make the crumb topping
